The dual degree pathway combines the expertise of top-ranked universities Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and University of Southern California to prepare you to become a uniquely qualified language professional. You will learn from leading faculty with robust multilingual and multicultural backgrounds while experiencing first-hand the culture of two world-class cities.
Upon completing all the requirements of the dual master’s degree program, you will earn two master’s degrees, one conferred by each university.
- At the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, you will complete a Master of Arts in International Language Education (MAILE) degree with a concentration in either Teaching Chinese as a Second Language (TCSL) or Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL).
- At the USC Rossier School of Education you will complete a Master of Arts in Teaching—Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MAT—TESOL) degree with an option to pursue a California Preliminary Single Subject Teaching Credential in English Language Development or World Languages.
